Place:

Achill Island is a wonderful area with spectacular views (see picture below).  The hotel is situated close to the waterfront.  It looks kind of nice from the outside.  Seeing it from the distance I dreamt of a nice room, a good restaurant and maybe an open fireplace in a cozy bar.

Room:

As no lower classification exists it is probably a one star hotel.  I tried not to touch too many things — everything looked a little filthy.  It was one of these nights when I tried to fall asleep quickly and didn't want to wake up during the night.  Yuck!

Food:

From what I remember there was a French chef — but I am not sure.  Somehow it was hard to believe.  At least I remember that the impression of dinner and breakfast couldn't make up for the overall image.  It was better than in a canteen though.

Service:

It's not worth mentioning it — considering the rest of what they delivered.  I am sure people tried to be friendly.

Overall:

Don't get trapped there.  I was because I arrived rather late and couldn't find anything else.  It's an old house in really bad shape.  Just stay away.
