Sark alone is worth a trip. It is a
wonderful island in the Channel, part of the Channel Islands.
Other main islands are Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney. La
Sablonnerie Hotel is a perfect place to stay for a couple of
days on the quiet southern part of Sark.
The house is about 400 years old and the
rooms are comfortable and cozy (well, it should be "cosy"
because Sark is British). The small bar gives you that typical
warm feeling — if only they had a non-smoking policy! Having a
drink at the fireplace before and/or after dinner, chatting with
locals or Brits is something I remember as a unique moment.
Sitting outside in a beautiful garden and
having lunch or sipping an afternoon tea, feeling the warm
summer wind — what more can life offer?
