Place:

Sark alone is worth a trip.  It is a wonderful island in the Channel, part of the Channel Islands.  Other main islands are Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney.  La Sablonnerie Hotel is a perfect place to stay for a couple of days on the quiet southern part of Sark.

The house is about 400 years old and the rooms are comfortable and cozy (well, it should be "cosy" because Sark is British).  The small bar gives you that typical warm feeling — if only they had a non-smoking policy!  Having a drink at the fireplace before and/or after dinner, chatting with locals or Brits is something I remember as a unique moment.

Sitting outside in a beautiful garden and having lunch or sipping an afternoon tea, feeling the warm summer wind — what more can life offer?

Food:

La Sablonnerie offers half-board and I recommend that.  Food had a remarkable quality considering that the Islands are part of the UK.  The strong French influence is obvious.  That's important for the ones that know English meals. ;-)

Service:

These people were really nice and friendly.  Especially Elizabeth (the owner) made it like a "family place".  The staff delivered a professional job most of the time.

Overall:

I still assume they unintentionally charged me a day too much.  The fact that I didn't care (and never felt that I should double-check) might convince you that I really liked it there.

Sark and La Sablonnerie will hopefully see me again one day.
